Dọc theo tuyến tỉnh lộ ĐT 604 lên hai huyện miền núi Đông Giang và Tây Giang (Quảng Nam), nhiều dòng sông đang trong tình trạng cạn trơ đáy. Điều đáng nói là những dòng sông này đều là nguồn nước sinh hoạt chính của các dân tộc thiểu số bản địa. Với tình trạng này, người dân không chỉ thiếu nước trầm trọng mà còn bị ô nhiễm, mẩn ngứa vì dùng nước đáy sông để sinh hoạt.
